Our Hygienists

Paula Carter – R.D.H, B.S.

paula“A healthy smile is the prettiest thing you can wear.”

Paula is a Nashville native. The head of our hygiene department, she has been with the practice since 2001. She received the honor of Magna Cum Laude and earned a Bachelor’s of Science degree from Tennessee State University/Meharry School of Dentistry in 2000. In 2014 Paula attained her certification to administer local anesthesia.

“At a very young age, I watched my parents lose their teeth to dental disease due to lack of knowledge and quality resources. This shaped my future and I knew that I could help make a difference in the lives of others through education, information, and superior execution of treatment skills utilizing the most modern, up to date techniques and equipment. I never want my clients to feel embarrassed or ashamed but rather know that new beginnings start here. Together, without fear, we can achieve the beautiful smile and optimal state of health, they have always dreamed.”

Outside of the office, Paula is a single mother to daughter Olivia, loves outdoor activities, a huge music lover, values laughter, faith, family and friends. An avid professional scuba diver and instructor with PADI, she chases her dream of receiving the highest level course director rating.

In her spare time, Rena likes to spend time with her husband working on their family farm here in Middle Tennessee. They enjoy spending time outside with their family and dogs (Tank the Rottweiler & Rusty the Red Heeler).
